Job Title: Custodian

Individual will possess all necessary qualifications, certifications and experience appropriate to the work they perform for Customer, evidence of qualification should be readily available. The individual shall conduct themselves in a professional, honest and Customer-Service friendly manner.

The individual shall maintain a professional appearance within Customer dress standards (including work uniforms as required). Service Provider personnel preventively and proactively report deficiencies or issues observed in facilities before they create problems for users.

The individual will be responsible for the cleaning and maintaining of facility spaces as assigned. This is to include, but not limited to, dusting, wiping, vacuuming, cleaning, polishing of all surfaces and areas including restroom facilities. All trash and recycling receptacles will be emptied and cleaned as needed but no less than once each workday. If trash/recycling receptacles have strong odors they will be washed and disinfected. All hard surface floors, i.e. tile or wood, will be mopped daily. All carpeting in high traffic areas shall be vacuumed daily. All vacuuming work to be conducted to reduce to the greatest extent possible, any interference with occupied spaces. Work, to the extent possible, will be performed when office and or conference space is vacant. If work needs to be completed in an occupied space, the individual must get permission from the occupant.

Individual will insure that all consumable products, i.e. paper towels, toilet paper, soap, etc., is stocked adequately for the shift.

On certain occasions, individual may be required to work overtime for special events which will require additional services.

• High School Diploma, G.E.D. or Equivalent.
• One to three years related experience and/or training.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions including, but not limited to, safety policies and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in individual and small group situations.
• Must be able to operate basic custodial equipment, such as vacuum cleaners, carpet extractors and floor buffing machines.

Physical Demands:

Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. Occasionally required to sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment:

Requires use and exposure to chemicals. Exposure to wet or humid conditions, outdoor weather and extreme heat. Noise level ranges from very quiet to very loud. May be required to wear metatarsal boots, safety glasses and hearing protection for work in designated areas within an industrial environment.
