Job Overview:

We are seeking a Resident Manager for our Adult Foster Home located in the St. Johnregion of Portland. The Resident Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being and quality care of our five residents in all aspects of their daily living by residing on-site. These residents have intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities:

- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting

- Assist residents with mobility and transfers as necessary
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
- Prepare and serve meals and assist with feeding as necessary
- Perform light housekeeping tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, and laundry
- Escort clients to appointments and social outings as necessary
- Administer medication or provide reminders as directed by healthcare professionals

- Respect each resident's privacy, maintain confidentiality, and encourage autonomy

Requirements & Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Be at least 21 years of age

- Be able to pass a background check

- Drivers License preferred

- Caregiving experience is required - Minimum 2 years preferred

- CPR / First Aid certification(s) - Can be completed after hire & paid for by business

- Attend State / County orientations & trainings - Can be completed after hire & paid for by business

- Must live on site

To be successful in this role, a candidate must be in good physical/mental health, have sound judgement, and have a personable character. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and other patient confidentiality rules, as well as an understanding of a residents' rights and maintaining dignity in care provision is a plus. Background in nursing, social work, or other related fields is a plus. Above all, a compassionate demeanor and patience to care for those unable to care for themselves, with the confidence to make informed decisions when necessary, and a love for creativity and fun.

*Please Note: May 2024 employment will be part-time with hourly wages due to required orientations & trainings prior to start, with full-time hours and salary beginning June 2024.
