Gulf Coast JFCS offers an opportunity to gain field experience and direct client contact hours for both Bachelor’s and Master’s level practicum and internships. For license-eligible candidates, we offer both individual and group supervision from a Board-Certified qualified supervisor to fulfill state requirements at no cost to the employee.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The Family Support Specialist is a non-exempt position which is responsible for providing on-site, individual and family intervention to children, their families, foster families, and primary caregiver(s). This individual works as a team member with a case manager, foster parents, primary care giver, guardian ad litem and other appropriate professionals. The Family Support Specialist provides assistance, intervention and education which is focused upon resolving issues of abuse and neglect by assisting with the acquisition of services related to issues such as substance abuse, adjustment and relationship issues, stress, daily living skills, budget training and employment assistance. These services are provided to the identified child, siblings, birth parents, relatives, foster parents and primary caregiver(s), as appropriate.
