Landscape Design/Sales Associate

This position will be supporting our growing Embassy Landscape Group Design/Build Team by providing landscape design/build solutions for our clients. The person filling this position will be meeting with customers and have the skill set to present and close landscape design/build projects. Sales goals will be accomplished on your own or by Team-selling with an experienced Team Member. At Embassy Landscape Group our Designers will be engaged with the job from the start to ensure a successful completion and work closely with their Project Manager to ensure the job is completed as designed and within budget guidelines.

Responsibilities

v Prepares preliminary design, working drawings, specifications, and cost estimates. Provide high quality designs that meet or exceed client’s needs. Generate fair, thorough and accurate design proposals

v Responsible for ensuring margins and profitability meet or exceed company established budgets

v Communicate design intent to Project Manager or Crew Leader before beginning project by attending morning meetings and assisting with layout as needed. It is important that all special details or nuances of the installation are explained and understood to maximize the crew’s productivity

v Revise plans and estimates according to project changes and communicate such along with any price change accordingly

v Coordinate with Contract Administrator, Project Manager and Crew Leader to make sure all materials and equipment are procured and delivered in time to meet schedule requirements

v Once Sale is finalized, make sure all internal support teams have the necessary, correct information to being processing and scheduling the work

v Support Project Manager and Contract Administrator with sourcing materials, vendors and any subcontractors needed.

Skillset & Experience:

v Able to work with various software programs – i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, AutoCAD, Land FX, Structure Studio VIP Suites, Microsoft Access, Real Time Landscaping Architect

v Have strong freehand illustration and rendering skills

v Excellent Communication Skills is a must both verbal and in writing

v A positive attitude and strong work ethic will be an important part of your success

v Ability to resolve issues timely and accurately

v Highly developed organizational skills and demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously

v Knowledge of costs and uses of construction and landscape materials used in design

v Knowledge of inspection techniques and procedures

v Broad knowledge of plant material and horticultural practices

v Ability to make accurate drawings to scale from sketches, design drawings, and verbal instructions and an ability to prepare plans, specifications, schedules and cost estimates

v Knowledge of surveying and engineering principles

v Preferred: Minimum four -year degree in landscape design, construction and/or architecture

v Will consider professionals without a formal degree if they possess the knowledge, experience, and proven sales success to perform this job.
