Engineer-Entry Level
Washington DC area Reporting to St. Elizabeth's
Hybrid-Position
EM Key Solutions seeks an Entry-Level Engineer to support the Department of Homeland Security.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Work with a cross-Directorate team to support identifying gaps and developing requirements to address the detection and interdiction of radiological/nuclear (rad/nuc) threats and sources out of regulatory control.
  • Interpret rad/nuc research as it pertains to developing detection solutions.
  • Understand and explain rad/nuc detection technologies/capabilities/processes to non-experts.
  • Provide the following outreach and coordination services with the DHS operational components and CWMD directorates to support requirements generation.
  • Support the staffing of regular meetings.
  • Synchronize efforts with program managers from other CWMD directorates.
  • Facilitate the collaborative development of synchronized requirements for various diverse stakeholders.
  • Report on specific findings and conclusions and assist in developing information briefs that convey content to internal and external stakeholders clearly and concisely.
  • Attend program reviews, technical meetings, workshops, conferences, site visits, and field tests, as directed by the Requirements Branch.
  • Carry out collaborative processes to engage with the interagency.
Required Qualifications:
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of experience
  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • Ability to obtain DHS Suitability.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Experience working as a government consultant.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), SharePoint, and MS Teams.
Clearance:
An active Secret clearance if required; Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
