Description

Position Summary

Initiates and maintains positive relationships with patients, customers, co-workers.

Essential Functions

  • Takes responsibility for self-development and supports a learning environment
  • Displays commitment to the mission of the system / entity and its values
  • Organizes and performs tasks efficiently to meet departmental turnaround time standards
  • Performs Data Entry

Required For All Jobs

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.

Qualifications

Education

  • High School Equivalent / GED High School Diploma or GED Required and
  • Formal training from an accredited phlebotomy school or medical assistant program Preferred

Work Experience

  • 1 years data entry experience Preferred and
  • Previous phlebotomy experience Preferred

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Computer data entry, laboratory processes including sterile technique, aliquoting and phlebotomy experience Preferred

Additional Licenses and Certifications

Phlebotomy Certification Preferred
