This is a full-time position Monday to Friday scheduled 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM. The pay is $16 per hour. This role is onsite at our center located: 238 S Amelia Ave, DeLand, FL 32724

The Toddler Teacher develops a cohesive teaching team, coordinates the curriculum, and manages the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom. The Teacher in this role should be high energy and able to work well with staff, students, and parents. You’ll have the chance to be a leader in the classroom, champion a team environment, and provide fun-filled learning opportunities while positively impacting the lives of children ages 2 years old. 

What You’ll Do: 

• Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by creating classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards 
• Lead by example and encourage teaching team success through modeling and coaching 
• Plan individual and group age-appropriate exercises to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive, and emotional growth 
• Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement 
• Ensure all Center policies and state regulations are met 
• Work with staff, children, and parents to foster a team environment
• Encourage children to develop a community-spirited classroom through sharing, caring and self-regulation 
• Promote self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling 

What We Need from You: 

• High School Diploma and/or degree in early childhood education or related field of study
• FL DCF 45 hours and/or Willingness to complete 10 School Readiness trainings with University of Florida

• Minimum of 1 -2 years of professional early childhood education or experience 
• Must clear a full level II DCF background check 
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, and technology skills 
• Strong understanding of children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where students are engaged and encouraged to succeed 
• Demonstrate empathy and patience in difficult situations while being Cheerful, enthusiastic, and engaging in the workplace 
• Effective in communicating with both students and adults to meet the needs of the children, effectively guide teacher assistants, and resolve parental concerns 
• CPR, First Aid, and Fire Extinguisher Certification completion within 30 days of employment
