This is a position that works a daily schedule of 8 hours per day based on programs operational hours, ideally Monday to Friday. Must have DCF hours, CDA and VPK. The pay is $16 -18 per hour depending on experience and qualifications such as DCF mandated 45 hours and industry credentials. This position is onsite at our center located here in Palm Bay, FL – Brevard County
The Program Support Staff plays a meaningful role in turning children's goals into reality and helping Britt Children’s Academy become the best it can be. You'll have the opportunity to utilize your natural interpersonal, administration and sales skills while bringing an enthusiastic energy to the staff and facility. The Program Support Specialist is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and quality of education for all children within the center’s care. The goal of this position is to collaborate with staff to ensure that curriculum and classroom activities are properly delivered, and that the needs of the students and the goals of the center are met appropriately while we send our students off to kindergarten feeling academically prepared, socially confident, and personally happy. The Program Support Specialist also works directly with the Director to help with various administrative duties. What You’ll Do:
  • Manage adherence to quality standards in accordance with both center’s vision and state and local requirements
  • Excellent Leadership through example and encouraging teaching team success through modeling and coaching while maintaining organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
  • Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement
  • A strong understanding of child development and appropriate engagement strategies.
  • Prepare weekly reports for the Center Director outlining the details of your contacts, tours, and resulting enrollments.
  • Maintain student records in accordance with established enrollment procedures and guidelines.
  • Maintain communications with parents of current and prospective students through direct conversation, newsletters, and parent handbooks.
  • Strong administrative skills to include collecting information, assessing applications, handling application documentation, entering data into files, making recommendations, and providing customer service to families as needed.
  • Assume duties of teachers as needed during their absence.
  • Responsible for the supervision of children and management of a well-ordered classroom environment that ensures safety, cleanliness, and wellbeing.
  • Assist in providing an appropriate educational atmosphere that creates a positive learning experience, encourages student participation, and promotes the development of positive self-esteem and confidence
  • Ensure prompt and efficient handling of telephone calls, messages, and visitors to the Center.
  • Review teachers’ curriculum weekly lesson plans, classroom activities to ensure delivery of developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
  • Assist with administrative duties to include budget management, personnel record keeping, childcare management systems, tuition billing and payment, staff supervision, and daily reporting and inspection.
  • Maintain positive relationship with regulatory agencies, community, and business partners through implementation of community outreach activities to maintain and promote positive community relationships.
  • Oversee professional development to ensure equal opportunities for staff.
  • Assume leadership role of the center when director is absent.
What We Need from You:
  • Degree in early childhood education or related field of study
  • 45 DCF hours and CDA required with VPK Endorsement and Directors Credential
  • Willingness to obtain VPK Endorsement and Directors Credential
  • Minimum of 2 years of direct professional experience in an early childhood setting
  • Must clear a level II background check
  • CPR, First Aid, and Fire Extinguisher Certification completion within 30 days of employment
  • Demonstrate empathy and patience in difficult situations while being Cheerful, enthusiastic, and engaging in the workplace
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, and basic computer skills
  • Effective in communicating with both students and adults to meet the needs of the children, effectively guide teacher assistants, and resolve parental concern
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk for long period of time and Lift- up to 35 pounds
