The pay is $17 per hour to start depending on experience and qualifications. This role is onsite at our center located: 2980 Pat McKee Pl, Melbourne FL, 32940. The VPK Teacher coordinates engaging developmental activities, implements curriculum that prepares children for school, and enhances their pre-reading, pre-math, language, and social skills. The Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) Teacher serves as a model and mentor. In this role you’ll have the opportunity to build a dynamic classroom environment, create fun-filled learning activities, and support the growth and success of children.Why You’ll Love Working for Us: • Accrued 1-week paid time off after 1 year of employment• Paid school closure holiday after 1 year of employment • Tuition Scholarship • Professional Development AssistanceWhat You’ll Do as a VPK Teacher: • Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards• Lead by example and encourage success through modeling and coaching• Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to engage children and encourage social, cognitive, and emotional growth• Follow all facility policies and state regulations• Maintain a personal and professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvementWhat We Need from You:
• Associate degree in early childhood education or related field of study • 45 DCF hours and CDA required with VPK Endorsement and Directors Credential• Minimum of 2 -3 years of professional early childhood education or experience• Must clear a full background check• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, and basic computer skills• Strong understanding of children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where students are engaged and encouraged to succeed• Effective in communicating with both students and adults to meet the needs of the children, effectively guide teacher assistants, and resolve parental concerns• Demonstrate empathy and patience in difficult situations while being Cheerful, enthusiastic, and engaging in the workplace• CPR, First Aid, and Fire Extinguisher Certification completion within 30 days of employmentJunior Bears Childcare LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
