Job Title: Civil Project Manager

Houston, Tx

We are seeking a skilled Civil Project Manager to oversee and coordinate various projects, reporting directly to an Operations Manager. The role involves managing a range of operations including structures, roadways, and other project elements. The ideal candidate will excel in planning and scheduling resources efficiently to ensure projects are completed ahead of schedule and within budget. Leadership capabilities are essential, as is the ability to foster positive relationships with stakeholders including Owners, designers, vendors, and subcontractors. Additionally, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and internal policies, as well as proficiency in contract discernment and risk management, are key aspects of this role.

Civil Project Manager- Requirements:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent is preferred, though relevant experience may be considered.
  • A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in the construction industry, with a focus on aviation, heavy civil, and major highways projects.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with all levels of management.
  • Demonstrated project management experience within the construction industry, particularly in aviation, heavy civil, and major highways.

Civil Project Manager- Responsibilities:

  • Directing all job personnel to adhere to E.E.O., safety, and preventive maintenance policies.
  • Analyzing and updating cost information on job cost reporting data.
  • Reviewing all billings to ensure accurate reflection of job cost.
  • Submitting regular billings to owners and general contractors to facilitate prompt payment.
  • Processing all change orders required by project owners, including detailed documentation for job cost reporting software.
  • Maintaining profit/loss accountability for individual projects, implementing job cost controls as directed by the construction manager, and taking proactive measures to meet or exceed budgeted costs.
  • Presenting and discussing change order needs with owners and their representatives.
  • Reading and interpreting owner's drawings and specifications to ensure clear understanding by staff and subcontractors.
  • Scheduling and coordinating all necessary resources for project completion.
  • Monitoring self-performed work to ensure alignment of labor and equipment resources with project requirements.
  • Reviewing daily time sheets to ensure accurate job cost data.
  • Creating and maintaining a general schedule, updating it as the job progresses or changes occur.
  • Creating a detailed ten-day schedule and updating it weekly.
  • Providing all personnel and subcontractor personnel with sufficient notice to ensure timely commencement of work.
  • Ordering and appropriately allocating costs for all material resources required to complete the project.
