We're a leading commercial general contractor specializing in ground-up construction projects, is seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join their dynamic team in Dallas, Texas. With a focus on commercial, retail, grocery stores, and healthcare projects ranging from $5 to $30 million, we're committed to delivering accurate and competitive estimates to ensure project success.

Responsibilities:

  • Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction projects, considering materials, labor, equipment, and other related expenses. Analyze project plans and specifications to identify project requirements and potential cost implications.
  • Bid Preparation: Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive bids and pricing. Develop comprehensive bid proposals, ensuring compliance with project specifications and requirements.
  • Budget Analysis: Collaborate with project managers and engineers to review and analyze project budgets. Provide valuable input during budget development to enhance cost-effectiveness.
  • Value Engineering: Evaluate and suggest value engineering alternatives to optimize project costs while maintaining quality standards. Work closely with project teams to find cost-saving solutions without compromising project integrity.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all estimates, bids, and relevant documentation. Generate reports to communicate cost estimates, comparisons, and recommendations.
  • Vendor and Subcontractor Relationships: Foster strong relationships with vendors and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and timely responses. Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Market Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, material costs, and market fluctuations to ensure accurate and up-to-date cost estimates. Utilize market data to enhance competitiveness in bidding.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Construction Estimator, preferably with commercial general contractors.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and methods.
  • Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
