Elmwood Park Zoo is Hiring a Parking Attendant Near Norristown, PA

Department: Guest Services

Experience: Some Experience Required – Must be 18 years or older
Titles: Parking Attendant
Employment Type: Seasonal
Pay Rate: $15.00/hour

Reports To: Guest Services Management Team

Schedule: Must be able to work at least 20 hours per week.

Must be able to work weekends and holidays and during school breaks. Schedule varies and is dependent on weather and guest attendance; schedule subject to change and may require late shift hours.

EPZ Team Member Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Zoo in fostering an appreciation of wildlife and the environment that will inspire active participation in conservation
  • Assist Management in ensuring safety, cleanliness, and efficiency in all areas of the operation of the Zoo
  • Follow and adhere to all policies and procedures

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Greet guests as they arrive into the lot creating a positive first impression for visitors by providing friendly assistance and guidance.
  • Assist in directing traffic within the parking lots to ensure smooth flow and efficient parking for our visitors.
  • Directing vehicles to available parking spots (on and offsite) and ensuring the safety of pedestrians in the parking areas.
  • Ensures guests are being directed to the best available parking location, including all Elmwood Park Zoo lots, our South Gate Entrance, and our offsite parking.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Similar previous experience preferred
  • Conflict resolution and de-escalation skills required
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Ability to remain composed and attentive when interacting with the public
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift and/or move 20-50 pounds
  • Comfortable being exposed to cold and hot weather conditions
  • Ability to work well within a team and independently
  • Must be able to pass background and child abuse clearances
  • Two forms of official valid identification are required
