Position: EL (English Language Learners) Teacher- Ukrainian

Requirements:

  • Current Illinois Professional Educator License
  • Registered in Suburban Cook County (Region 6)
  • ESL Endorsement/Approval
  • Certified to administer state assessments (ACCESS)
  • Bilingual (Ukrainian)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create and prepare daily lesson plans for appropriate language development and learning skill level, making adjustments when needed
  • Modify lessons in collaboration with classroom teachers, to ensure students are attending and participating in class
  • Modify classroom assessments, provide accommodations and assess language growth in all domains of language acquisition
  • Be active in the school community and events
  • Participate in teaching training sessions and stay up to date with current teaching methods, and best practices when teaching ELs.
  • Creative and able to create a fun learning environment
  • Efficient time management
  • Good at problem-solving quickly under pressure
  • Excellent collaborator
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Good classroom management
  • Experienced in teaching English Language Learners
  • A passion for learning and sharing your knowledge with others

Additional Duties

Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.
