Freight Salesperson

Department: Sales

Location: Hybrid in Evansville, IN

Overview: As a Freight Salesperson, you will be a key contributor to our sales team, driving growth through proactive prospecting and tailored solutions delivery. Leveraging your strong analytical skills, you will identify opportunities for automation and promote technology solutions to enhance efficiencies within our customers' supply chains.

This position requires someone to live within the Southwest Indiana geographic area in order to develop relationships within the organization.

The position will have a base salary however will turn into more of a commission structure as business is developed.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Prospect and secure new business within your designated territory, focusing on understanding customer needs and challenges.

2. Develop tailored solutions that address customer requirements and support their supply chain goals.

3. Understand how opportunities fit into our existing pool of assets and drivers.

4. Explore, analyze and present opportunities that require an expansion of assets and drivers.

5. Collaborate with internal teams to create comprehensive solutions based on customer needs, utilizing our portfolio of logistics services.

6. Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, serving as their primary point of contact for all sales-related inquiries and support.

7. Conduct regular account reviews with customers to assess satisfaction levels, identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling, and address any concerns or issues.

8. Stay informed about industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive offerings to effectively position our services and differentiate ourselves in the marketplace.

9. Prepare and deliver sales presentations, proposals, and contracts to prospective clients, highlighting the value proposition and benefits of our services.

10. Participate in industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to expand your professional network and generate new business leads.

11. Monitor and track sales performance metrics, including pipeline activity, conversion rates, and revenue targets, to assess progress towards goals and identify areas for improvement.

12. Provide regular updates and reports to management on sales activities, market trends, and customer feedback to inform strategic decision-making and resource allocation.

Qualifications:

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand and interpret complex data.

• Proven experience in sales, particularly within the freight or logistics industry is a must.

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

• Ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

• Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing market conditions and customer needs.

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
