Elmbrook Church is Hiring a Student Ministries Director Elmbrook Church Lake Country Campus Near Brookfield, WI

Elmbrook Church is a non-denominational, intergenerational, multi-site church excited about the life change possible in Christ. Elmbrook’s mission is to help members become Rooted in Jesus Christ and Released to His mission. The Student Ministries Director is responsible for developing a vibrant student ministry focused on students' discipleship, parents' support, and connection with students throughout the community. This role serves as a Lake Country Campus, Family Ministry, and Student Ministry team member.

Major Responsibilities

  • · Discipleship culture: Is a leading voice with staff, volunteers, and community members in championing Elmbrook’s vision of equipping disciples who make disciples.
  • · Relationship Building: Builds meaningful connections and community with grades 6-12 students, offering spiritual guidance and mentorship. Actively recruits and empowers a committed team of volunteers. Nurtures positive relationships with parents, providing support and fostering collaboration. Collaborates seamlessly with Elmbrook Church's various ministry teams.
  • · Teaching and Leading: Leads curriculum development for grades 6-12, creating engaging environments and overseeing comprehensive plans for Sunday, midweek, and special events. Ensures a continuous teaching presence and applies developmental knowledge to address students' needs effectively.
  • · Community Involvement for Students: Collaborate with students to establish outreach and Bible study spaces in schools/communities. Actively seek opportunities to connect with students in their school environments, fostering stronger connections. Engage with students in community activities, such as sports events, to enhance outreach efforts.
  • · Administration: Demonstrates strong organizational and communication skills by regularly engaging with families and volunteers and practicing healthy stewardship of budgeted resources. Able to hold multiple priorities well and ensure compliance with Elmbrook policies and procedures.
  • · Campus and Church Responsibilities: Participate in campus and Family Ministry events across campuses that require all staff participation, such as outdoor services, community outreach events, Holiday services, etc.
  • · Doctrine: Partners with the Family and Student Ministry teams to ensure sound doctrine in all learning spaces.
  • · Collaborates with Ministry Teams: Works together with ministry team leaders to effectively lead people to find and follow Jesus. Meets regularly with a mentor from the Student Ministry team.

General Responsibilities

  • · Helps fuel a focus on prayer within the staff and the larger church body.
  • · Develops and oversees efforts to help people come to faith in Christ. Equips students and families to have a spiritual influence on those around them.
  • · Perform other pastoral responsibilities. Serves on the “Pastor on Call” rotation and is willing to shepherd people.
  • · Be a primary storyteller of lives transformed by God whenever possible.

Qualifications

  • · Demonstrates a vibrant and growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a deep love for God’s word.
  • · Active participant or member of Elmbrook church who supports and endorses the statement of faith, core values, and vision.
  • · Actively demonstrates servant-leadership, upholding Elmbrook’s staff values of integrity and humility in their leadership and practice.
  • · Affirms and practices Elmbrook’s Genetics as expected for all staff: inspiration, integrity, innovation, intent, inquisitiveness, insistence, and interdependence.
  • · Desire to grow, seeking relationships, resources, and training to continue personal and professional growth. Stay current with trends in student ministry and educational practices.
  • · Relationally intuitive and a desire to shepherd well.
  • · Desires to build healthy, positive, and life-giving relationships with other staff.
  • · Demonstrates strong teaching abilities in developing engaging and effective learning experiences.
  • · Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with visitors, community members, congregants, church leaders, and other corresponding ministries at Elmbrook Church.
  • · Solid leadership, team building, project management, and strategic decision-making skills.
  • · Able to build into volunteers and staff, encouraging growth in their giftings.

Skills and Experience

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university preferred; two years related experience and/or training; teaching/facilitating experience preferred. Further education or certification may be required.

Employment Information

This position is full-time, salary and classified as exempt 40 hours/week

Salary – dependent on experience, skills & education

Benefits Package

This position is eligible for all benefits associated with full-time employment, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. Refer to the Staff Handbook and information provided by Elmbrook’s insurance vendors for specific details.

Paid Time Off (PTO) – Full-time employees are eligible to earn PTO. PTO is accrued on a calendar year basis. Refer to the Staff Handbook for specific details.

403b – Employees are eligible to participate in the 403b pension plan if they are scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week. Entry dates for the 403b plan are the first of the month following the date of hire. On an employee’s first anniversary, Elmbrook will match up to 2%.

Holidays – Full-time employees are eligible for holiday pay. Refer to the Staff Handbook for specific details.

Reporting Structure

This position reports directly to the Lake Country Campus Pastor and serves as a collaborative member of the Family Ministry and Worship/Production Ministry teams.
