Duties & Responsibilities:

The Director ofNursing is responsible for directing, overseeing, and providing appropriateleadership to the Nursing department in support and promotion of EllsworthCounty Medical Center’s mission, vision, and values. This includes businessplanning, organizing, and controlling the department of nursing and patientservices. Oversees a multi-unitdepartment comprised of clinical and non-clinical staff, ensuring patient careis in accordance with accepted standards. Authority and accountability fornursing practice, nursing education, and nursing activities. Maintainscollaborative relationships with other departments and provides consultationservices, as necessary.

Experience & Skills Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school ofNursing required.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in acute carenursing required
  • Demonstrated leadership with 3 years managementexperience preferred
  • Critical access hospital experience preferred
  • Licensedto practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Kansas
  • ACLSand PALS current within 90-days of hire
  • TNCCcurrent or within 6-months of hire
  • CurrentCPR certification required.
