REPORTS TO: Senior Director of Sales

CLASSIFICATION: Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for promoting and selling Ellsworth Cooperative Creamery products to regional, national, and international accounts (bulk/ingredients, retail, food service), ensuring favorable terms, pricing, and contract agreements that maximize profitability and efficiency across the cooperative. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The essential functions of this job include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaboratively develop and execute sales strategies to reach regional, national, and international customers to increase the market share of Ellsworth cheese products.
  • Identify and influence key decision-makers within current and prospective customer base to maintain and increase sales of Ellsworth products.
  • Build and maintain relationships with new wholesalers, retailers, brokers, and individual customers. 
  • Increase international product sales through export partnerships and brokers.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with distributors and brokers, ensuring they have the necessary support and resources to effectively market and sell Ellsworth cheeses.
  • Collaborate with management, finance, and production teams to establish competitive pricing strategies for current and new product lines ensuring profitability for the cooperative.
  • Lead the negotiation process for sales contracts, ensuring terms are favorable to the cooperative.
  • Ensure appropriate customer complaint resolution, including working with QA and customer service.
  • Act as a product expert to customers, vendors, converters, and other departments to address and resolve inquiries and problems.
  • Communicate necessary information to appropriate parties, including brokers and customers, such as company policy updates, price lists, product specifications and point-of-sale materials.
  • Prepare for and represent the Ellsworth Cooperative Creamery at industry events, trade shows, and food fairs.
  • Other duties, responsibilities and activities as assigned. 

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related field.
  • 5 years dairy sales experience with 2 years minimum in WI cheese industry.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills
  • The ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments and diverse backgrounds.
  • Collaborative and Team focused mindset
  • Familiarity with Microsoft office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
