The Ellison Institute of Technology is seeking a talented and passionate AI Research Engineer to join the Applied AI program in support of its digital pathology efforts. The AI Research Engineer, Digital Pathology is responsible for performing the following job duties:Job Accountabilities:
  • Build, optimize, and maintain production level, cloud-based, machine learning pipelines in the areas of digital pathology and computer vision. 
  • Collaborate with experienced professionals to develop advanced machine learning models, AI techniques, and predictive analytics to derive insights and predictions for patient outcomes, disease patterns, and treatment effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including researchers, clinicians, and data engineers to integrate research findings into clinical applications.
  • Document tasks, methodologies, and outcomes to contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Communicate key findings to diverse stakeholders in the form of reports and presentations.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and research methodologies, integrating this knowledge into novel solutions that contribute to research objectives.
  • Actively participate in meetings and educational opportunities on AI and medicine. 
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as R, Python, and SQL, with experience in data analysis and machine learning tools like PyTorch, Pandas, scikit-learn, Tensorflow, or similar. In addition to proficiency with image processing libraries like scikit-image and OpenCV.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Experiences in analyzing multi-modal healthcare-related datasets and a robust statistical foundation are a plus.
  • Applications development experience in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure is a plus.
  • Computational or wet lab biology research experiences are a plus.
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Biostatistics, Engineering or a related field. Minimum Experience: 2 years of industry experience in dedicated machine learning or data engineering roles, or equivalent to a Master’s degree with strong emphasis in Machine learning.Minimum Field of Expertise: Healthcare and biomedical space. Salary: $115,830 - $129,279
