Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Basic Worker to join our team at Fermentato, a small Federally inspected meat processing facility. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of various areas within the facility, contributing to the overall safety and quality of our products. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.

Responsibilities

• Execute cleaning and sanitation tasks in accordance with established procedures and schedules.
• Clean and sanitize production floors, equipment, utensils, and other surfaces to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as power washers, scrubbers, and steam cleaners safely and efficiently.
• Dispose of waste and byproducts in designated areas following proper disposal procedures.
• Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and notify supervisors of any shortages or replenishment needs.
• Inspect the facility regularly for cleanliness, identifying and addressing any sanitation issues promptly.
• Collaborate with team members to prioritize and complete cleaning tasks in a timely manner.
• Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while performing cleaning duties.
• Report any maintenance or repair needs related to cleaning equipment or facilities supervisors.
• Maintain cleanliness in employee break areas, restrooms, and other common areas to ensure a hygienic work environment.

Skills / Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in cleaning or sanitation, preferably in a food processing or manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of sanitation procedures and practices, including handling of cleaning chemicals safely.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team to accomplish cleaning tasks efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards.
• Physical stamina to perform cleaning duties, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Availability to work various shifts during our hours of operation between 6:30 am to 3:00 pm, Monday-Friday.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.
• Ability to work 8-hour shifts.
