The role …

The primary function of our Painter position is to prepare, prime, and paint fabricated parts used in manufacturing processes. The painting techniques will include wet paint spraying.

You will…

• Cleaning and painting of all manufactured product surfaces
• Selects the proper process, equipment, and materials to apply the best possible paint application to products
• Determines what repairs need to be completed to applications before applying touch-ups or determining if the product needs to be repainted
• Selects proper paints and chemicals and mixes the material effectively
• Assesses the surfaces of the product by interpreting manufacturing processes, blueprints, and other applicable work instructions
• Prepares metal surfaces to be coated by sanding/abrading, and pre-cleaning to remove grease, dirt, rust, and other contaminants
• Efficiently masks off areas that are not required to be painted
• Ability to tack off metal surfaces to ensure a clean, dirt-free surface.
• Sprays wet coatings onto prepared surfaces using high volume/low pressure spray guns
• Utilizes a mil thickness testing gauge to determine if appropriate amount of paint has been applied
• Performs pre-paint inspections for any flaws
• Performs post-paint inspections of the coated parts for runs, sags, and uncoated areas
• Performs all operator maintenance on paint booths and various types of spray equipment
• Follows both visual and written work instructions in order to complete assigned tasks within set time allotted
• Adheres to all quality and safety standards

You’ll have …

· A minimum of 1-year prior work experience painting a variety of surface types

· Understands techniques to meet coating and thickness desired

· Proficient with technical paint equipment

· Basic measuring device knowledge

· Ability to read blueprints

· Excellent dexterity and hand-eye coordination

· Strong attention to detail
