Elliott Bay Distributing Co. is a local Washington, independently family-owned beverage wholesaler located in Seattle. As of June, we will have been in business for 40 years and have an extremely high reputation in our industry. We service accounts throughout Washington. This would be a full-time 100% commissioned position. This position has excellent potential for growth.

Our ideal candidate would have a passion for wine, the ability to make a sale, and a drive to sell great wine. We’re looking for someone who has industry experience and a willingness to learn.

• Regularly conduct sales calls upon existing and potential customers within the assigned territory.
• Build and maintain buyer relationships at high profile and top volume accounts through direct calling efforts and understand how important relationships and discipline are to success.
• Develop the customer base through superior knowledge of our wines, quality presentations and consistent servicing of accounts.
• Grow sales placements and revenue within each account by effectively targeting wine lists and retail opportunities.
• Execute new account goals by implementing an effective cold calling program and following up on qualified leads.
• Identify sales opportunities, challenges, and solutions.
• Effectively communicate both internally and externally to insure the timely dissemination of information, offerings, last call, vintage changes, etc.
• Conduct staff education events and distribute educational materials in support of the portfolio.
• Execute and support supplier and company ride alongs, tasting events, and promotions.

Actively participate in virtual sales meetings, individual goal reviews and educational tours of wineries and vineyards when applicable.

Extensive wine knowledge and/or certification with SWE, WSET preferred.
Two-plus years of wine beverage wholesale, retail or restaurant experience.
Must be able to work independently, take ownership of assigned duties and meet deadlines, while managing multiple priorities.
Must be at least 21 years old.

Must be able to handle 40-pound cases and other point-of-sale materials.

Must have own transportation, possess a valid driver license, proof of auto insurance, and a clean driving record.

A positive service-oriented attitude and strong organizational skills.
A sense of independence, combined with the ability to fit in and flourish in a tight-knit team environment.
Technological awareness as well as computer proficiency in at least Word and Excel.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the proven ability to build and maintain relationships.
Must live in or very near territory.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
