PROBATION ASSISTANT-ADULT

DEPARTMENT: Elkhart County Judiciary-Court Services

HIRING RATE: $19.73-$21.92/hour based on education and position related experience. Longevity pay after 3 years.

JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for providing caseload management and oversight; maintaining communication with offenders.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma/GED; Associate’s degree in social services or criminal justice preferred
• Must be self-motivated and able to maintain a high level of confidentiality; must demonstrate strong communication skills, strong time-management skills and possess the ability to work well with others
• Knowledge of and ability to make practical application of local, state, and federal regulations/statutes, standard policies and procedures, adult/juvenile criminal code, and legal terminology of criminal justice system
• Excellent organizational, communication skills and a sound knowledge of office procedures and practices
• Background check & drug screen required
