    ISD 728 schools use iPads grades K-2, chromebooks grades 3-12. Teachers are primarily on MacBooks with Jamf Pro, using Smart/Newline Displays, Google Apps and Schoology to integrate digital teaching resources.
    Description: The IT Specialist works as a professional in computer hardware, software and basic networking (8 hours per day; 12 months per year). Primary tasks involve installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of computer hardware, software and related peripherals so that all systems are usable by students and staff on the computer network. The selected candidate will have experience maintaining and repairing Apple, Google and Windows based devices and software, basic networking, and be a graduate of an appropriate technical college or equivalent program.
    Pay ranges $24.66 to $30.19 based on related experience. Benefits handbook available here IT Handbook.
    Job Summary:
    1. Services site hardware and software for client and server computer, network, telephone and related peripheral equipment so that all site computers are usable.
    2. Installs and moves equipment to provide staff use, including unpacking, placement, connections, and configuration.
    3. Diagnoses, troubleshoots and repairs equipment to resolve failure, malfunction, or configuration issues; coordinates related warranty services with vendor and/or service provider.
    4. Maintains integrity and continued operation of equipment at a component level to ensure that it functions according to district standards.
    5. Updates or upgrades equipment on both local and networked systems to provide continued use.
    6. Manages site voicemail boxes, phone extensions and local/networked computer accounts so that they are available for use, including creation, modification, deletion and resetting per account or in batch.
    7. Guides and directs best practices of computer systems use in order to provide staff proper access.
    8. Prepares reports and maintains proper documentation concerning site technology so that recommendations can be made in a professional manner.
    9. Conducts basic system maintenance and monitoring in order to reduce system downtime.
    10. Assists with audio/video connectivity and troubleshooting so that systems are available for use.
    11. Responds to individual service requests on-site as scheduled and organizes with the district application helpdesk in order to deliver structured support services.
    12. Prioritizes and escalates resolution of computer and network issues appropriately, coordinating activities with related support staff and end users to ensure staff technical needs are met.
    13. Gauges needs and advises on emerging technologies purchasing in order to align site technology planning with district technology planning.
    14. Other job related duties as assigned.
    Qualifications:
    1. Graduate of an appropriate electronics/computer program or equivalent experience.
    2. Working knowledge of Apple, Google and Microsoft based devices and related systems are required.
    3. Ability to record, convey, present and explain information and procedures with staff is required.
    4. Good organizational and communication skills are a must.
    5. Desire to remain knowledgeable in and actively promote technology use.
