Job Function:
To assist the in overseeing the childcare program at Elk Grove UMC by providing loving, safe, and age-appropriate care for children ages 0-5 years during Sunday morning worship, Sunday School, and at other times for children ages 0-12 for church sponsored groups as needed.
Duties:
- Arrive 15 minutes early and set up the room for the children.
- Greet each parent/guardian and child each time they come to the nursery and assist parents/guardians with signing their children in and out.
- Maintain appropriate records on children who use the nursery.
- Interact and play with children in the nursery.
- Set limits to ensure the safety of the children.
- Take care of emergency situations as they arise and inform the Pastor and Child Care Coordinator both verbally and in writing of the situation and how it was resolved.

- Follow state mandated reporting laws and inform the Pastor and Child Care Coordinator of unusual experiences with parents or children.
- Keep and leave childcare facilities clean and orderly. A janitorial service provides basic cleaning for the rooms.

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
