SCHOOL BUS DRIVER

COMPENSATION: $17.85-$26.25 (This salary will is slated significantly increase in the 2024-2025 school year)
Qualifications
Valid CDL with a class B and P, S, M endorsement
Meets State, Federal, and district requirements
Reports to Transportation Coordinator and the Transportation Director
Responsible for the safe operation of a school bus in the transportation of students to and from school and in other situations. Develops and promotes good community relations within the community with all constituents.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Transports students in a safe and efficient manner, observing all safety and legal requirements

2. Maintains student discipline on the bus, interacts with parents, issues disciplinary referrals, and makes discipline recommendations

3. Valid CDL school bus driver's license, with a class B P2S endorsement and such additional health, character, physical and age requirements as mandated by Federal, State and District regulations and policies

4. Performs required vehicle pre-trip inspections prior to each trip and post-trip inspections at the end of each working day. Sweeps bus daily and washes bus as per District procedures

5. Maintains all necessary records

6. Initiates repair orders and certify satisfactory completion

7. Cleans exterior and interior of bus

8. Stays current with all required licenses, training requirements

9. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM EDUCATION OR FORMAL TRAINING

High school graduate or equivalent preferred

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

Less than one year

PREFERRED SKILL REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge of student discipline
Some knowledge of special needs students
