Elite Team Offices is Hiring an Estimator (Landscape) Near Clovis, CA

COMPANY DESCRIPTION

Commercial landscape construction company that works with General Contractors and Owners to install all aspects of commercial landscaping with over 30 years of business since the establishment of what began as a small home-based landscape maintenance company in 1987. We are looking for an Elite Landscape Construction Estimator to join our team in Clovis, CA.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Estimator is responsible for performing quantity take-offs from construction plans and compiling estimates of how much it will cost to provide a client with products and/or services.

CORE AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  1. Understand the project scope and its requirements
  2. Determine key variables for costs and other estimates
  3. Research information on upcoming jobs for bidding purposes
  4. Submit job proposals by bid due date

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  1. General knowledge of landscape construction operations
  2. Excellent numerical skills and an analytical mindset
  3. Effective listening skills to understand the scope and expectations of tasks to be performed
  4. A positive attitude when faced with challenges
  5. Work in an organized and proactive manner
  6. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam
  7. Work cooperatively and collaboratively both, independently and as part of a team (team-oriented)
  8. Effective and professional communication skills; verbal and written
  9. Detail-oriented, able to multi-task and flexible
  10. Valid California Driver’s License

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

At least a High School Diploma or GED required and a minimum of 3 years experience estimating in the construction industry and/or a related field.

  1. Regularly required to talk and listen
  2. Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, reach, and use hands, arms and fingers
  3. Able to lift and/or move up to 40lbs.
  4. Routinely use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines

CORE AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

1. Understand the project or program scope and its requirements

    • Perform Quantity Take-offs
    • Read and understand Landscape, Civil, and other construction plans
    • Conduct hand-offs
    • Update award status
    • Manage non-awarded jobs

2. Determine key variables for costs and other estimates

    • Key variables needed for:
    • Pre-bid meetings
    • Bid bond for prime bids
    • Work in Progress (WIP) for project backlog
    • Gather first-hand information from sites, warehouses or other venues
    • Coordinate the bid calendar

3. Research information on upcoming jobs for bidding purposes

    • Search exchange for jobs

4. Submit Job proposals by bid due date
