VCS is looking for Cleaner for one of our client at Stony Brook, NY
Pay Rate : $23.67 / Hour
Attendance / Performance Appreciation : Up to $250 / Month as Gift Cards (Non-Taxable)
Shift :
- Shift 1 : 7am-3 : 30pm, 5 days a week including every weekend
- Shift 2 : 3pm-11 : 30pm, 5 days a week including every weekend
- 8 Hours 5 days weekly 40 Hours
- Location : Stony Brook, NY 11794
- Contract : 6 Months with possible extension
- Contract to Permanente (Depends on performance)
- Start Date Asap
Cleaners perform a wide range of cleaning tasks to maintain assigned areas in State buildings, and surrounding grounds and walkways.
Incumbents work independently or as part of a cleaning team in a variety of settings, such as administrative office, classroom, hospital, laboratory, living, treatment, and other work area
Performs a variety of cleaning tasks in assigned areas :
and disposes, transports, or places such in appropriate receptacles and locations, following proper cleaning procedures.
- Assembles cleaning carts according to assigned tasks; and prepares, mixes, and dilutes cleaning solutions following manufacturer directions.
- Washes floors, corridors, stairwells, walls, partitions, and windows using mops, detergents, brushes, and other cleaning devices.
- Vacuums, strips and waxes floors, and shampoos carpets, using manual or mechanical equipment.
- Scrubs and cleans showers and restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and drains, using hand-operated equipment and cleaning agents.
- Replaces light bulbs, and dusts or washes light fixtures and high places, such as ceilings, using ladders, other appropriate equipment, and tools.
- Polishes wood and metal surfaces, fixtures, furniture, and equipment.
- Monitors cleaning supplies and equipment; and notifies supervisor of supply levels, equipment malfunction, and / or maintenance issues observed during cleaning.
- Replaces, cleans, and / or hangs building fixtures and decorative items, such as curtains, blinds, and pictures.
- Moves, and arranges furniture and equipment in connection with cleaning tasks or in preparation for meetings, events, and other activities.
Minimum Qualifications :
There are no education requirements for this class. Cleaners must be physically able to perform the tasks of the position and understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
