Job Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and creative Youth Fine Arts Instructor to join our team and nurture the artistic talents of young individuals in various visual arts disciplines. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fine arts, excellent communication skills, and the ability to inspire and guide youth in their artistic endeavors.

Responsibilities:

• Fine Arts Instruction:
• Plan and conduct inspiring and age-appropriate fine arts classes for youth, covering a range of visual arts disciplines such as drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media.
• Teach fundamental techniques, artistic principles, and art history concepts.

• Skill Development:
• Design and implement skill-building exercises and projects to enhance participants' artistic abilities.
• Provide constructive feedback to help young artists refine their skills and develop their unique artistic style.
• Encourage creativity, self-expression, and experimentation in various art forms.

• Safety and Well-being:
• Ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all participants during art activities.
• Instruct proper use of art materials and tools to prevent accidents.
• Promote a positive and supportive atmosphere that fosters artistic exploration.

• Exhibitions and Showcases:
• Facilitate the creation of art projects for exhibitions, showcases, or displays.
• Instill a sense of pride and accomplishment in the young artists.

• Communication:
• Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and the Director of Arts-Based Programs
• Provide regular updates on students' progress, upcoming projects, and art events.
• Address any concerns or questions from parents in a timely and professional manner.

• Program Planning:
• Collaborate with other fine arts instructors to plan art workshops, camps, or special events.
• Contribute to the development of age-appropriate fine arts curricula.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a fine arts instructor or in a related field.
• Proficiency in various fine arts mediums and techniques.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt lessons to different skill levels and ages.
• Patience, enthusiasm, and a passion for fostering a love of fine arts in youth.

Education:

Relevant teaching experience and professional certifications. However, relevant experience and a strong portfolio may be considered.

High School Diploma

Requirements:

DOE clearance a plus.

Working Conditions:

This position may require traveling between different job sites. The position may also require evening and weekend availability, depending on event schedules.
