Elite Family Medicine is Hiring a Medical Assistant Near Orange, CA

Certified Medical Assistant ($18 - 21 Hr)

Elite Family Medicine (patients 18 ) is looking for an experienced Certified Medical Assistant. Seeking confident, organized, responsible individual with great customer service skills and initiative who has worked with electronic medical records, e-prescribing and other medical office programs. Urgent Care or ER experience a plus. We’re offering a competitive hourly rate.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must possess a Medical Assistant Certificate from an accredited program

CLINICAL DUTIES:

  • Registration of patients and assist with collection of copayments (in absence of receptionist)
  • Room patients and collect vital signs.
  • Verify patient demographic information, reason for visit, and medical history.
  • Update patient medical record including medical and surgical history, family history, and allergy-immunotherapy record.
  • Record patient administrative and medical information in medical record, including vital signs, and chief complaint.
  • Relay instructions to patient as determined by physician.
  • Process patient orders, including scheduling studies to be performed outside of clinic.
  • Keep rooms stocked with adequate and appropriate supplies.
  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens.
  • Assist clinician with office procedures.
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to urgent/emergency situations per protocols.
  • Receive patient phone calls and perform basic triage.
  • Check patients out.
  • Document work processes in medical record as required.
  • Phlebotomy experience preferred as well as starting and managing IV’s under the medical provider's direction.

ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES:

· Maintain clean work area, exam rooms, supplies, and medications.

· Keep inventory of medical and office supplies as required. Notify healthcare provider if supplies are low.

· Provide administrative support during administrative staff absence and/or as needed per practice manager’s discretion.

· Assist in updating patient’s demographic and insurance information in medical record.

· File and manage patient data/charts.

· Work cooperatively with all vendors, office, and all clinical staff.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18-21 per hour, depending on experience

Schedule:
