Elite Electric is Hiring an Electrical Designer Near Bend, OR

Elite Electric is currently seeking a full-time entry-level (or higher) Electrical Designer to join our office in Bend, OR. As a design-build electrical contractor, we provide comprehensive electrical design and construction services. Our services include power distribution, lighting, controls, security, surveillance, fire alarm, and communication systems.

As an Electrical Designer, you will work closely with our lead electrical designer on commercial and industrial projects. Responsibilities include assisting in design and drafting, preparing construction documentation, and coordinating with architects and engineers. This role emphasizes ensuring that electrical systems meet project requirements, comply with codes and standards, and integrate seamlessly with other building systems. You will also support pre-construction tasks such as submittals and material procurement.

Responsibilities:
- Assist our lead electrical designer in drafting electrical systems using AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam software to create
detailed drawings and specifications.
- Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other team members to coordinate electrical designs with overall
building plans.
- Translate schematic design concepts into design development and final construction drawings.
- Prepare equipment layouts and size equipment according to specifications and vendor requirements.
- Generate wiring schematics, installation details, diagrams, shop drawings, and panel layouts.
- Conduct electrical load calculations to ensure designs meet project needs.
- Work closely with engineers, project managers, architects, and on stall field installers/electricians.
- Apply industry standards such as the National Electrical Code (NEC) Oregon Electrical Specialty Code (OESC) and
NFPA
- Conduct site visits to gather data for permit documentation.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
- Strong understanding of electrical fundamentals, single phase power and three-phase power.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Detail oriented with a strong work ethic.
- Independent problem-solving skills and self-motivation.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal.
- Experience managing multiple tasks with varying timelines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Experience:
- Previous role as an Electrical Designer or similar position.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or Bluebeam software.
- Knowledge of electrical systems, components, and materials.
- Experience in electrical, lighting and life safety system design.
- Familiarity with industry standards including NEC, NFPA, OSSC.
- Background in the construction industry.
- Desire to pursue FE and/or PE certification.
