POSITION SUMMARY Personal Assistants (PA) are the backbone of the Elite Care organization and the first, last, and most frequent point of contact with residents each day. The PA assists the resident in maintaining their independence and quality of life by performing tasks and duties to support the resident’s physical and psychological health. Additionally, a PA promotes the Elite Care culture by fostering resident engagement and belonging, encouraging individual choice, and creating opportunities where residents can experience purpose and self-fulfillment. PAs must have strong interpersonal skills, effective communication, and an empathetic understanding of the resident and their history and strengths. The person in this role must be people-oriented, self-directed, and a builder of authentic relationships.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES The major responsibilities of the PA position are broken down into six categories: resident care; documentation and portaling; household duties/cleaning, teamwork and cooperation, training, development and compliance; and representing Elite Care. Each category is detailed below. Ultimately, it is the PA’s responsibility to provide best-in-class resident care, build relationships with residents, and keep the houses running smoothly and harmoniously. Resident Care • Deliver services and assist with Activities of Daily Life (ADLs) as outlined in a resident’s Service Plan (SP) with respect, empathy, competence, and encouragement throughout the residents’ day
Household Duties (Cleaning, Laundry, Kitchen, Etc)
• Complete daily checklist of cleaning duties and NOC shift cleaning duties if applicable
Teamwork and Cooperation
• Attend and participate in daily team huddles and pass downs, house staff meetings, all staff meetings, family night, service planning meetings, etc.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Skills
High school diploma or equivalent
Value and respect of elders
Strong desire to work with seniors
Speak, read, and write English
Excellent oral communication
Good reading comprehension skills
Good written communication with ability to correspond and document properly in charts and portal
Preferred Education
Education and/or training in aging, social services, adult services or other related field
CNA
Required Physical Ability
Able to turn and move individuals who require assistance
Able to stay on feet and remain active throughout shift
Must be able to bend, stoop, twist, reach, squat often throughout shift
50 lb lifting requirement
Employment Screening
Upon post job offer, must be able to pass background check and drug test
