Eliot Logo is Hiring an Associate Director for Communications Near Lexington, MA

MSPCC, a division of Eliot, is seeking a dynamic and creative professional with five years experience in communications or marketing. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the work of supporting children and families and for implementing communications strategies that engage a range of constituencies through print and social media, collateral materials and digital marketing. Professional or lived experience in behavioral health or child welfare is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a strong positive web presence for MSPCC services and advocacy initiatives, including, CMHC and, MAFF through, websites, social media, electronic newsletters, videos and other formats.
  • With the Chief Innovation Officer and Director of Development, develop and implement communications strategies to support the policy and programmatic and fundraising goals of MSPCC including the work of the Children’s Mental Health Campaign (CMHC), the Foster Parent Association (MAFF) and other select Eliot CHS programs.
  • Serve as press liaison, cultivating a range of earned media opportunities to inform the general public about the work of MSPCC and create support for policy priorities including state funding of Eliot and MSPCC services.
  • Write and oversee production of collateral materials including, direct service marketing materials, fact sheets, newsletters, annual reports and various publications for Eliot, MSPCC, The NAN Project and CMHC.
  • Oversee publicity for fundraising events and other public events which highlight the work and policy priorities of Eliot, MSPCC, The NAN Project and CMHC.
  • Serve as lead staff person for MSPCC Marketing Committee.
  • Manage interns.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years of professional experience in communications or marketing.
  • Experience developing communications strategies to engage constituencies through earned and owned media and a range of collateral materials.
  • Demonstrated ability to write clearly and effectively for multiple mediums including, website, and social media.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with ability to interface with all levels of the organization and with external contacts including legislators, news outlets and donors.
  • Outstanding organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and manage complex and diverse projects. Strong research and analytical skills and the ability to think strategically.
  • Professional or lived experience in behavioral health or child welfare is a plus.

Location: Hybrid and onsite in Lexington, MA 

Salary: TBD based on experience

Schedule: 40 hours per week, full time. Monday- Friday 9am-5pm. Some flexibility available.
