WHAT YOU'LL DO:

This individual will have primary accountability for providing consultation to Elica Health Center’s patient population. This includes coordinating and collaborating with clinical and non-clinical staff to ensure patients are provided with nutrition and dietary educational instruction and counseling. This individual will also be expected to consult with the patient regarding the treatment plan, taking into account socioeconomic, social, religious, cultural, and other personal values.

Requirements

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

The successful candidate will be willing and able to:

• Conduct a nutrition assessment and obtain nutrition history from the patient
• Consult with physicians and other healthcare personnel to determine patient’s nutritional needs and diet restrictions
• Plan and conduct programs to educate patients about nutrition
• Evaluate patients’ nutritional care and provide follow-up continuity of care as appropriate
• Educate clinical and non-clinical staff on nutrition and diet therapy
• Communicate with patients and team members in a culturally sensitive, professional, and respectful manner

The successful candidate has:

• Proof of eligibility for registration as a Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association
• Experience with diverse diets and cultures
• 2 years of professional dietitian experience, particularly with diverse and/or economically disadvantage populations
• Preferred 1-2 years of EMR experience, especially Epic
• Bilingual/bicultural preferred, especially Spanish, Russian, Arabic, Farsi, Dari, and/or Pashto

Additional Requirements

• Must have a current and valid California driver’s license and the ability to provide proof of personal auto insurance on the vehicle driven during working hours.
• If selected for an employment opportunity with Elica Health Centers, external hires must provide proof of immunizations (Hepatitis B, MMR, Varicella & Tetanus), tuberculosis clearance, and proof of COVID-19 vaccination status* prior to their scheduled start date. Physical Requirements and Work Environment

The work environment is characteristic of normal office conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to handle or lift. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus. The employee must also possess hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the phone. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. Compensation - Dependent Upon Experience

$69,680 - $90,584 annually
