DevOps Engineer

Our client, a leader in their industry, has an excellent opportunity available for a DevOps Engineer to work on a 12-month contract. They operate a brokerage firm, manage a large family of mutual funds, and provide fund distribution and investment advice, retirement services, index funds, wealth management, securities execution and clearance, asset custody, and life insurance.

The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for automating end-to-end DevOps practices for mission-critical applications developed using the Java Spring framework. This position is hybrid in Durham, NC allowing for 3 weeks of remote work per month. This is a 12-month renewable contract. The pay rate is commensurate with experience but can go up to $65/hr.

Responsibilities of the DevOps Engineer:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with mobile app developers, QA engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate DevOps practices seamlessly into the mobile app development lifecycle.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code principles to automate the provisioning, configuration, and management of infrastructure components, ensuring scalability and reliability.
• Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines for mobile app deployments, enabling efficient and rapid delivery of new features and updates to end-users.
• System monitoring and troubleshooting: Establish robust monitoring solutions to proactively identify and resolve system issues, ensuring the mobile app's optimal performance, and participate in incident response and troubleshooting activities.
• Continuous Learning: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in DevOps and systems engineering, fostering a culture of continuous learning within the team.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures, facilitating knowledge transfer and onboarding of new team members.
