Our banking client is looking for a Data Engineer to join their team.
We will accept corp to corp or w2 contractors. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.
Salary: $130,000 - $172,000/year
Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be taken into account when determining salary. Other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided salary.
Responsibilities of the Data Engineer:
- Design, development, and support of data solutions, APIs, tools, and processes to enable rapid delivery of business capabilities
- Translate business and technical strategies into data-driven solutions for the Bank
- Act as a technical Expert addressing problems related to system and application design, performance, integration, security, etc.
- Conduct research and development based on current trends and technologies
- Work with developers to build CI/CD pipelines, self-service build tools, and automated deployment processes
- Evaluate software products and provide documented recommendations
- Provide support and troubleshooting for data platforms
- Provide escalated on-call support for complicated and/or critical incidents
- Participate in the planning process for hardware and software
- Plan and work on internal projects as needed
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring for other team members
Requirements of the Data Engineer:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Experience with big data technologies and distributions
- Experience with metadata management products
- Experience with commercial ETL tools and BI and reporting tools
- Experience with data warehousing
- Experience with SQL and Java
- Experience with major version control systems and continuous integration/delivery tools
- Experience with infrastructure automation and virtualization tools
- Ability to communicate ideas both verbally and in writing to management, business and IT sponsors, and technical resources
- Fundamental understanding of distributed computing principles
- Knowledge of application and data security concepts, best practices, and common vulnerabilities
