Gan Ilan Preschool at Temple Isaiah is a play- and project-based, emergent curriculum preschool rooted in Jewish traditions. Gan Ilan "Garden of Trees" serves children ages 18 months-5 years old. We believe strongly in the importance of fostering independence and inquiry, creating intentional environments, engaging in outdoor learning, facilitating social-emotional development, and respecting the child and the family.
Our Early Childhood Educators provide high quality education to our young students and a welcoming, supportive environment for their families as well. We are looking for Summer Camp teachers who will work with age based preschool classrooms. Our camp runs from May 31st through August 2nd with the ideal candidate available all of these weeks.
***If you sign on for all weeks of the summer, paid holidays include Shavuot (June 12th), Juneteenth (June 19th) , and July 4th and 5th. ***
Qualifications

• Previous experience in childcare settings and age of 18 years or older required
• Current Community Care Licensing Fingerprint Clearance strongly preferred; must be able to pass the criminal background check
• 12 or more units of Early Childhood Education courses preferred but not required
• BA degree in education, child development, child psychology, or related field strongly preferred
• Must be able to provide proof of the following: Immunization to pertussis (TDAP) and measles on vaccination record; TB test within 1 year, new test within 7 days of starting work; If applicable, transcripts with ECE credits from community college, college, or university

• Love for play and having fun!
• Willingness to take feedback and learn new skills 
• Passion for early childhood education and child development
• Enthusiasm for working respectfully and collaboratively with children, families, and staff members
• Ability to closely follow health and safety protocols with guidance
• Preschool experience or child care experience preferred, this includes babysitting and/or nannying

Essential Duties, including but not limited to:

• Directly teach and care for children during our Full Day Summer program
• Prepare, plan, and curate spaces, activities, and routines
• Work in collaboration with a classroom team of teachers
• Follow all Community Care Licensing and Contra Costa Public Health requirements, as outlined by the Director of Early Childhood Education
• Input daily brief electronic documentation as needed (such as incident and nap reports) using an app system
