POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Valid Texas teacher certificate (or other state).
1-3 years teaching/instructional experience in high school or higher education setting.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strive to implement, by instruction and action, the school’s philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives through the use of our web-based student learning management system.
Work cooperatively with colleagues to identify student placement in instructional software.
Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
Assist the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct.
Maintain order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
Help supervise and monitor students during arrival, dismissal, and other school day transitions.
Make provisions for being available to the students and to the parents for education-related purposes.
Maintain and improve professional competence.
Establish and maintain open lines of communication with students, parents, and community.
Perform other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Strong and proactive classroom management.
Savvy in the use of computer technology, to include software, databases used by the school, Google educational platform, spreadsheet and word processing software.
Effective communication in written/verbal forms, both internal and external to the organization, including parent communication.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internal and external.
Solution-driven personality, with the ability to apply problem-solving skills.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Light Work: may require occasional light lifting.
Long periods of moving and standing within the classroom.
Evening and weekend activities may occasionally be required.
