Description

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. 
• Valid Texas teacher certificate (or other state).
• 1-3 years teaching/instructional experience in high school or higher education setting. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Strive to implement, by instruction and action, the school’s philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives through the use of our web-based student learning management system. 
• Work cooperatively with colleagues to identify student placement in instructional software. 
• Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of
  the students. 
• Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior. 
• Assist the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct. 
• Maintain order in the classroom in a fair and just manner. 
• Help supervise and monitor students during arrival, dismissal, and other school day transitions. 
• Make provisions for being available to the students and to the parents for education-related purposes. 
• Maintain and improve professional competence. 
• Establish and maintain open lines of communication with students, parents, and community. 
• Perform other duties as assigned.

 SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Strong and proactive classroom management. 
• Savvy in the use of computer technology, to include software, databases used by the school, Google
  educational platform, spreadsheet and word processing software. 
• Effective communication in written/verbal forms, both internal and external to the organization, including parent
  communication. 
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internal and external. 
• Solution-driven personality, with the ability to apply problem-solving skills.

 WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

• Light Work: may require occasional light lifting. 
• Long periods of moving and standing within the classroom. 
• Evening and weekend activities may occasionally be required.
