Responsible for analyzing, reporting and developing recommendations on data related to complex and varied business metrics. Typically provides technical assistance to lower level staff.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Creates and maintains databases to track business performance.
  • Analyzes data and summarizes performance using summary statistical procedures.
  • Develops and analyzes business performance reports (e.g. for claims data, provider data, utilization data) and provides notations of performance deviations and anomalies.
  • Creates and publishes periodic reports, as well as any necessary ad hoc reports.
  • May require taking business issue and devising best way to develop appropriate diagnostic and/or tracking data that will translate business requirements into usable decision support tools.
  • May make recommendations based upon data analysis.
  • Work with client/vendors, Sales, technical resources, and Privacy to support one-time and recurring client report and CII segmentation update requests
  • Can become a SME in CII segmentation concepts (how Commercial large group clients across various source systems break out their data) and tools
  • Create and produce Business Objects reports
  • Research/analyze data issues and provide written and/or verbal explanation to internal and external customers
  • Participate in UAT and special projects as assigned.
  • This role will also involve supporting Business Unit teams in leveraging tools, aligning processes for data collection, and reducing variance by implementing real-time reporting dashboards.
  • Determines and implements solution for data findings.
  • Works closely with cross functional leadership to understand Executive Level KPI needs, and provides actionable insights based on current, historical, and long-term data trends.
  • Provides information found in data for continuous process improvement.
  • Mentors and coaches other associates to support clean queries and one source of truth mentality.
  • Provides strategic direction, technical assistance and consultation to others in the use of data.
  • Develops strategy and vision related to metrics and improvement efforts.
  • Collaborates on maintaining and updating metrics planning and analysis tools and ensures metrics are aligned to performance goal.
  • Establish strong cross-functional partnerships to deliver Executive level KPI metrics, requirements, and priorities.
  • Collaborate with Business Unit leaders to establish and monitor KPIs aligned with organizational goals.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards for real-time reporting and analysis of KPI trends.
  • Provide guidance and training to team members on KPI tracking tools and best practices.
  • Conduct regular reviews to ensure data accuracy and credibility in reporting.
  • Support senior-level reporting by presenting insights and recommendations based on KPI analysis.
  • Drive continuous improvement in KPI maturity and visibility across the organization.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and analytical skills preferred
  • Understanding of Agile practices
  • Experience querying and manipulating raw datasets for Analysis using Excel / Tableau / Qlik
  • Service Now and Jira Experience – dashboards, queries, tables
  • Smartsheet Experience preferred
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and deliver results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Requirements:

  • Requires a BS/BA degree in related field; 3-5 years data analysis or related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
  • Experience with relational databases and knowledge of query tools and statistical software is required.
  • Ability to manipulate large sets of data is also required.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills.
  • This job is focused on complex and varied metrics, making recommendations and providing assistance to staff as compared to the Bus Info Analyst II job.
  • Ability to quickly learn new tools and data to create accurate and complete client reporting
  • Strong analytic and Excel skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with internal business partners and external customers
  • Working knowledge of Anthem data (membership data, medical claims, RX claims)
  • Experience running and creating Business Object reports
  • Time Management skills – need to be able to work on multiple competing priorities and under tight deadlines, creating quality work.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail are critical to succeed in this position. HIPAA compliance is a daily task.
  • Client reporting experience preferred
  • Ability to run SQL and/or SAS queries preferred

Job Type: Possible Temp to Hire

Additional Details:

  • Work Schedule: Monday -Friday 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm (CT)
  • THIS IS A HYBRID ROLE - temps must be within 50 miles of an EH PulsePoint location and report to the local office at least 1x/week.
