We are an inpatient drug treatment program seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Art Therapist to join our team. Candidates must be able to Engage patients in individual and Group Creative Arts Therapy which assists patients to identify problems and explore potential solutions, setting realistic goals and implementing strategies that build upon their strengths and motivate further their self-sufficiency and hopefully ultimate recovery.

Candidates must be able to manage a case load of 8-10 clients, conduct daily individual & group counseling sessions, admission assessments, case management and aftercare planning, crisis interventions, and develop individualized treatment plans & overall counseling. Strong documentation skills and familiarity with OASAS regulations a plus!

Education:

• Masters Degree in Creative Arts Therapy (or similar), or
• Bachelors Degree in Therapeutic Recreation (or similar) plus 5 years of relevant experience

Experience:

• For Creative Arts Therapy permit holders: 1 year of relevant experience preferred
• For Bachelors Degree holders: 5 years of full-time, paid work experience in an activities program in a health care setting

License/Certification:

• NYS Licensure (LCAT) OR NYS Limited Permit or Permit Eligible (CAT-P)
• Certification by the National Council on Therapeutic Recreation or the American Therapeutic Recreation Association
