Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Technical Report Writer to be a part of the transportation department whose primary responsibility will be to support, maintain, and champion the creation of technical reports derived from laboratory testing jobs and projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop test reports and other technical documents adhering to strict standards for clarity, conciseness, and terminology.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) like lab personnel and engineers to gather data, understand technical specifications, and determine content.
• Edit and standardize reports for consistency and accuracy, working with lab or assigned personnel to ensure clarity and technical correctness.
• Maintain and update test reports, records, and revision history for comprehensive documentation.
• Take on additional duties assigned by the manager to contribute to the team's success.

Skills / Qualifications

• Preferred: Bachelor Degree in Material Science, Engineering, Word Processing, or English degree from an accredited four-year institution.
• Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as customer quotes / contracts and purchase orders
• Highly motivated and organized individual with a flexible approach to work and excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work independently , under pressure and meet tight deadlines without compromising the quality of work or safety
• Ability to travel occasionally to labs in Auburn Hills, MI, Burton, MI and Kokomo, IN
