Element Materials Technology is Hiring an Associate Test Technician Near Houston, TX

Salary: Min Starting $18/hr

Schedule: Day Shift / Availability for overtime and weekend work as-needed 

Responsibilities

  • Operating complex mechanical testing equipment
  • Maintaining accurate and systematic records
  • Application of instrumentation and the setting up of complex data capture equipment
  • Mechanical and metallurgical testing and evaluation of metals using a variety of measurements and testing instruments
  • Analysis of data using Excel spreadsheets and company software.
  • Frequent lifting of samples and test fixtures weighing up to 40 pounds
  • Availability for overtime and weekend work as-needed

This is a fast-paced environment, and we need someone who is proactive, self-motivated and a team player. The person for this role will be a specialist in their field, respected by all who they work with, keen to learn and enthusiastic in the face of challenge. You will need:

  • Skilled with hands-on tasks including but not limited to dimensional measurement, use of hand tools, and use of heavy machinery
  • Excellent math, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with Windows computers and Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Previous experience in a related engineering or laboratory environment is a distinct advantage
  • An understanding of recognized Quality Management Systems such as ISO 17025 is beneficial
