Summary of Role and Function:

The Testing Coordinator is responsible for performing mid- and post-manufacturing quality inspections and completing applicable factory acceptance tests on all manufactured equipment and products. Testing Coordinators are also required to maintain all documentation and ERP system transactions so that EPD and customer specifications are satisfied.

Testing Coordinators are required to interact with members of the Project Management, Manufacturing, Engineering, and other members of the QHSE departments, on a daily basis, in order to ensure that all products adhere to EPD quality standards. Additionally, the Testing Coordinator may fill additional roles as needed and directed including, but not limited to, roles such as supporting other QHSE assignments.

Job Description:

Job descriptions establish expectations and performance benchmarks and always include three (3) main parts as a minimum; 1. Key Duties, 2. Key Responsibilities and 3. Key Qualifications.

Key Duties:

Job duties are the major or most important tasks to be performed by this position. The duties must be clear and specific of the work tasks to be performed and must include the periodic schedule that is required for each task such as continuous, daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly or on an annual basis.

a. Report for work on time, every time.

b. Follow work instructions and expectations given to you by your Supervisor and/or Manager.

c. Log into and out of jobs in the Electronic Power Design ERP system promptly.

d. Review and familiarize with equipment record drawings, mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and test procedures in preparation for quality inspection and functionality testing.

e. Perform thorough mechanical and electrical inspection procedures to ensure manufacturing accuracy prior to any applicable energized functionality testing.

f. Perform troubleshooting and repair in collaboration with the Manufacturing Department to resolve any nonconformity found in parts or process.

g. Operate applicable electrical test equipment safely and responsibly in accordance to predetermined functionality test procedures.

h. Perform internal and/or customer witnessed factory acceptance testing in accordance with standard procedures to ensure that products meet required quality standards.

i. Identify manufacturing and/or engineering nonconformities in parts, equipment, or procedures, and effectively assist in the diagnoses and remedy of all issues prior to shipment of completed projects.

j. Complete all required quality check lists, functionality test procedures, and other quality control documentation in an organized and timely fashion.

k. Perform all required ERP system transactions including labor entry and nonconformity reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

a. Employee must be responsible for their own Safety.

b. Employee must read and fully understand the latest version of the Electronic Power Design, Inc. Employee Manual available on the PayChex website portal and in the Human Resources office.

c. Accept responsibility and accountability of all information and results reported within official test procedures, quality documents, and equipment records by means of employee signature and/or initials.

d. Follow-up and verify that all nonconformities found during the quality control process have been resolved and approved by all necessary positions.

e. Meet contractual shipment deadlines which often require flexibility with regards to work schedule, extended days and overtime, and evening/weekend hours.

f. Complete department tasks and responsibilities at a fast and organized pace with occasional unscheduled interruptions or changes in priority.

g. Embody a Team oriented work environment and relationship with other department members in order to collectively reach daily and overall company goals.

h. Maintain a safe and organized work area at all times, and report all potentially hazardous equipment, test setups, conditions, or activities.

i. Must maintain a professional appearance in accordance to company policy.

3. Key Qualifications:

There may be a difference between the skills required to get the job and the skills required to perform the job. For example, even if our company requires candidates to have an engineering degree as a Prerequisite before our company hires them, the candidate may still need to be trained on the characteristics of the product and the tools used to produce the product. Therefore, the Job Description should also always identify the Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) that each person needs to be successful in their job.

a. A list of required Prerequisites

i. Education

1. Associate’s Degree in electrical technology or related field

ii. Training Certifications

iii. Applicable Experience

1. Applicable work experience may be substituted for Associate’s Degree.

2. At least one year’s experience in applicable product assembly is preferred

b. A list of required Knowledge

i. Knowledge of product types related to the company. This includes but is not limited to Electrical Switchboards, Motor Control Centers, Variable Speed Drives, PLC Control Systems, and Industrial Control Panels.

c. A list of required Skills

i. Proficient in the use of electrical and mechanical test equipment such as digital multimeters, hi-pot testers, insulation resistance meters, torque wrenches, etc.

ii. Advanced problem-solving skills.

d. A list of required Abilities

i. An ability to read technical drawings.

ii. An ability to troubleshoot and solve issues independently.

iii. An ability to understand relevant quality standards and quality control processes.

iv. An exceptional ability to thrive in a team environment with great interpersonal skills.

v. The ability to work safely with AC and DC voltage less 1,000 Volts.
