Primary Purpose:

Individual shall operate all Computer Aided Design systems, such as AutoCAD, Revit, or Bluebeem Revue and exercise considerable skill in the use of Electrical mathematics, drafting graphic commands and preprogrammed design software material to help develop construction drawings and associated documentation for real world electrical installation as directed by the Professional Engineer(s) in responsible charge of all projects assigned. Individual does Electrical Virtual Design Construction coordination and operates all REVIT, NAVISWORKS, AutoCAD MEP software and exercises advanced skill in the development of 3D models, BIM Coordination with other trades in the model, Trimble scanning and the creation of 2D drawings when required for submission sets.

Typical Duties:

• Report to Operation Manager
• Perform task assignments per the Project Captain and/or PE’s direction.
• Time management implementation including updating workload and submitting Timecard.
• Implement quick actions utilizing the command language of the CAD systems in place to assist in drawing creation.
• Utilize knowledge of mathematics in the preparation of drawings and schedules.
• Perform routine assignments requiring a thorough knowledge of computer aided drafting system standards, practices and techniques.
• Develop increased proficiency in system operation with a resulting increase in productivity and learns how to use all software options.
• Review specifications or basis or designs to determine critical dimensions of design equipment and understand how the equipment is powered and operates on a basic level.
• Review work performed to determine accuracy with input from responsible Project Captain and/or the PE in charge of assigned projects.
• Communicate with Principles, Chief Engineer, BIM Coordinators, and clients to delineate the electrical installation scope to be drafted, modeled, laid out on Trimble software or scan in field.
• Coordinate 3D and 4D scope with client, Principles and/or Chief Engineer for QA/QC of construction of what has been modeled and make alterations as required.
• Attend and give input at virtual construction meetings as it relates to scope and clash detection.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience

Educational and experience requirements include:

• Minimum of 2-5 years verifiable BIM Coordination & design experience, Revit and 2D/3D AutoCAD drafting skills version 2019 or higher.
• At least 2 to 3 years experience performing computer aided drafting (CAD) at the level I position.
• Minimum 1 year Trimble Points layout and points shot in field on verifiable jobs preferred
• Minimum 1 year Scanning experience in field and implementing scan point cloud to model verifiable experience on jobs preferred
• Electrical Journeyman Electrician License a plus.
