Electric Power Engineers is Hiring a Corporate Tax manager Near Austin, TX

Responsibilities

Join us in leading the change!

We are seeking an experienced Corporate Tax Manager to join our team, and this role is integral to our strategic growth and expansion plans. They will assist the CFO with the design of global tax (income, sales, transfer, and other taxes) and treasury strategy and coordinate the implementation of the strategy for a multi-state and multi-national, private equity backed company. This includes all aspects of the Company’s effective tax rate and cash tax profile, tax compliance, tax planning, cash management strategy, and integration of the tax functions. The successful candidate will work within an interdisciplinary team, including external tax advisors and banking partners, to minimize cash taxes, proactively optimize the effective tax rate, and maintain cash and working capital targets.

How you can make an impact:

Taxation

  • Coordinate with CFO to implement cohesive, efficient tax strategy.
  • Model internal restructuring projects to provide CFO with recommendations on structuring which will optimize and stabilize effective tax rate.
  • Responsible for oversight/completion of federal, international, state income tax returns, and state/local sales tax returns including all related analysis and support. Manages the tax reporting process with third-party vendors.
  • Oversight of the tax returns for the Company’s international subsidiaries.
  • Responsible for audits of federal and state income tax and state and local filings of any non-income tax returns.
  • Prepare quarterly and year-end tax workpapers and support and assist external accountants in the preparation of company and shareholder tax returns.
  • Responsible for accounting for income and sales taxes in the US and International subsidiaries.
  • Responsible for estimating and monitoring annual cash taxes.
  • Maintenance and organization of the company’s corporate, tax, and other compliance related tax documents.
  • Coordination of accounting for income taxes for international subsidiaries with third party vendors.
  • Ensuring appropriate internal controls are in place over accounting for income taxes.
  • Responsible for responding to inquiries from regulatory authorities and coordinating appropriate responses.
  • Maintain online tax accounts for numerous state and local agencies and manage credentials for company access.
  • Assist in identifying, mitigating, and assessing tax risks. Find areas of cost reduction.
  • Liaison with operating management on tax issues and accounting staff on tax accounting issues

Qualifications

Bring your passion, here what’s needed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting. Master’s degree in taxation preferred. CPA Preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate taxation both at the federal and state level, with some experience with international tax issues. Experience with multi-state income tax issues along with parent/subsidiary tax issues required.
  • Proven experience in managing and all stages of tax preparation, filing and compliance processes.
  • Strong multi-tasking competencies and ability to manage workload to meet US Federal/State and Global reporting deadlines.
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent negotiation and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments and teams.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred

  • Prior experience in the engineering or tech services sector, whether through previous Tax, Treasury or Audit, consulting, or operational roles, is highly desired. Understanding the engineering and tech services sector's specific challenges, trends, and dynamics will be a significant advantage.
  • Significant experience in Tax with consolidated organizations (multiple national and international subsidiaries) with annual revenues of $75m or more and with complex reporting structures, including multiple divisions, lines of business and departments.
  • Demonstrable experience in managing all stages of tax strategy, risk management, compliance and reporting for federal and state income taxes, sales and local taxes and international taxes.
  • Solid experience in financial modeling of tax scenarios. Experience in creating complex financial models.
  • Operational treasury experience including experience with multiple bank platforms or treasury management systems.
  • Experience or knowledge related to the following tax credits a plus:
    • IRC section 48 Investment Tax Credit
    • IRC section 45 Production Tax Credit
    • IRC section 45Q Carbon Capture Tax Credit
    • IRC section 45V Clean Hydrogen Tax Credit
