Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Optometric Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care and possess knowledge in medical office procedures. This role offers the opportunity to work in a patient-centered, friendly, and welcoming atmosphere.
Responsibilities:
-Assist optometrist with patient care procedures
-Perform preliminary tests on patients
-Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
-Train patients in contact lens insertion and removal
-Retail sales of eyewear and contact lenses
-Process glasses and contact lens orders
-Dispense and adjust patient eyewear
-Insurance verification
-Collaborate with staff to schedule appointments, answer phones, patient check in/check out, and manage platient flow
Other Requirements:
-Prior experience in a medical office setting is required.
-Knowledge of physiology and eye anatomy is beneficial
-Perform accurate mathematical computations
-Ability to provide excellent patient care and customer service
-Proficiency in using medical software
-Strong communication skills, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail
-Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and responsibilities
-High School Diploma
