Elcor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is currently looking to hire a dynamic Registered Nurse who is eager to teach others and improve outcomes for our residents. 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Initiates and assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures that govern the staff education in collaboration with appropriate services.

• Establishes and maintains records of infections for all residents.

• Provides RN oversight for assigned units, dining units ensuring residents needs are met as requested

• Ensure staff demonstrate adequate documentation and are following documentation requirements, policy, and procedure.

• Demonstrates adequate appropriate documentation in the resident’s record, follows documentation expectations and policy/procedure.

• Serves as chair person for committees , i.e., Infection Prevention and Control, antibiotic stewardship,gradual drug reductions, safety and others as designated

• Conducts C.N.A training program and serves as Primary Instructor for the facility.Works Collaboratively with Program Coordinator

• Participates in the performance improvement functions by collecting and verifying data, as needed. Ensures required nursing audits are completed as needed or requested.

• Consults other departments, as appropriate, to provide for an interdisciplinary approach to the resident’s / staff needs.

• Treats residents and their families with respect and dignity.Identifies and addresses psychosocial, cultural, ethnic and religious/spiritual needs of residents and their families.

• Ensures licensed nurses can perform required skills per policy, Ensures annual skills competencies for licensed staff and C.N.A’s is completed. Provides re-teaching when needed.

• Follows direction from DON, maintains a positive professional attitude.

• Reviews all new admissions records to ensure staff is knowledgeable in regards to competencies.

• Provides RN assessments of resident as requested – Knowledgeable and able to assist RCC duties

• Serves as Employee Health.Maintains immunization records, annual mantoux assessments.Organizes and plans annual Flu Clinic – Encouraging and supporting staff education on employee health

• Assists Resident Care Coordinators with resident immunizations and assessments as requested.

• Works collaboratively with DOH - Maintains access to HPN and updates surveys and ensures timely completion of annual requirements (i.e.Influenza vaccinations, HERDS)

• Supports and maintains a culture of safety and quality demonstrates as participates in our Brand Integrity core values.

• Supervises nursing staff in their daily work. Takes ownership of staff outcomes, growth and development.

• Exhibits genuine interest in and appreciation of adults in the later years of life. Advocates for the residents and staff of the facility.

• Is a motivated, independent individual who can organize workload so that all functions are completed appropriately

Regulatory Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

• Current Registered Nurse licensure in State of New York.

• Current BCLS certification.

• Train the Trainer Certified
