El Dorado County Transit Authority, also known as El Dorado Transit, has been providing public transportation services since 1975. Initially, the service focused on the elderly and disabled in the greater Placerville area. In July 1980, public transit service expanded to include the general public through a combination of fixed-route deviation and demand-response services. El Dorado Transit operates local bus routes connecting various communities in the area, offers curb-to-curb Dial-a-Ride service for seniors and disabled individuals, runs commuter routes to downtown Sacramento, and provides transportation to medical appointments in Sacramento County.
Role Description
This is a full-time Finance Manager role based in Diamond Springs, CA. As the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations of El Dorado County Transit Authority. This includes managing budgets, financial planning and analysis, overseeing financial transactions, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The role also involves collaborating with other departments and stakeholders to support strategic financial decision-making and driving financial efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications
- Six (6) years increasingly responsible professional finance program experience including two (2) years in a management capacity
- Knowledge of government fiscal operations
- Strong financial management and analysis skills
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, payroll, accounts payable & receivable and financial planning
- Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance
- Proficiency in financial software and systems
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field (Master's degree is highly desirable)
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CPA, CFA) are a plus

COMMUTER SERVICE Commuter routes run Monday through Friday from El Dorado County into downtown Sacramento corridor. Starting at the Placerville Station Park and Ride lot on Mosquito Road commuter routes pick up passengers at the El Dorado County Fairgrounds, Central Transit facility, Ponderosa exit/Wild Chaparral Park and Ride, Cambridge Park and Ride, Rodeo Road stop and the El Dorado Hills Park and Ride lot.
