Job Purpose The Director of Programs is a highly visible executive management position responsible for leading the development, implementation, and ongoing delivery of a comprehensive array of diverse and complex programs and services in support of the strategic direction of the organization. Monitors the overall fiscal and operational success of existing and new programs and ensures that program operations adhere to contractual requirements. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community partners and funding sources. Actively engages and co-leads with the Development, Finance, and Analytics teams.This is an in-person position and office on campus at El Buen headquarters. This is a salaried position Monday-Friday 8am-5pm with ability to work a flexible schedule including occasional evenings, weekends, and events. Essential Duties: EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP (20%)
  • Co-lead strategic planning and coordination of the programs, services, projects, and policy positions.
  • Support organizations grant writing, fundraising, and report submissions.
  • Ensure the timely submission of proposals and reports required by funders board, and others.
  • Work with executive team to forecast, monitor, and evaluate annual budgets for all service areas; develops and maintains systems which assist in monitoring program outputs/outcomes based on budgets.
MANAGEMENT AND OVERSIGHT OF PROGRAMS/SERVICES (40%)
  • Oversees the planning and delivery of diverse services focusing on health, education, and essential needs.
  • Work with program staff to determine how efficiencies can be gained through the leveraging of resources
  • Develops, implements, and evaluates process/procedures to ensure fidelity and adherence to requirements.
  • Conducts continuous quality improvement and develops recommendations to address gaps and needs.
  • Leads the development, implementation, evaluation program metrics, monitors data/outcomes/impact.
STAFF SUPPORT/COACHING/SUPERVISION (35%)
  • Communicate frequently and openly with staff. Provide ongoing 1:1 supervision, mentoring, and coaching.
  • Provide clear direction and priorities, timely feedback, performance management, professional development, and conflict resolution; promotes and rewards teamwork and inclusiveness.
  • Empower staff to problem solve to meet organizational goals and achieve desired outcomes; promotes interdisciplinary approach; create an environment of trust; encourage learning, creativity and new ideas.
  • Ensure customer service and quality for all programs; Identifies causes and analyzes contributing factors for dissatisfaction of clients, employees; facilitates design and actions for improvement/solutions.
Other Duties: (5%)
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • As a member of the Executive Leadership team, will act as an immediate responder in certain organizational procedures, such as business continuity, inclement weather, and incident reporting.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Bachelors degree in administration or related discipline required; Masters degree preferred and
  • At least ten (10) years in managerial experience, preferably in public health, education, social services, and/or nonprofits.
  • At least five (5) years of experience directly related to managing and developing health and human services programs, or
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential duties of the job.
  • Excellent writing skills necessary to develop funding proposals and/or reports to diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience developing and maintaining effective and collaborative partnerships that support the continuous enhanced delivery of services, improve outcomes, and achieve equity.
  • Experience working with diverse communities/populations.
  • Experience utilizing data and evaluation for continuous program quality improvement; knowledge of Results Based Accountability a plus.
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish
