Position

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Research Associate 2, Pre-Clinical Pharmacology to join our dynamic Preclinical Pharmacology team. As a Research Associate 2 in Preclinical Pharmacology, you will play a crucial role in conducting preclinical studies to understand the target engagement and efficacy of novel compounds as they are optimized and developed for future clinical trials. Your contributions will be instrumental in advancing our understanding of preclinical drug candidates and their potential therapeutic impact.  

About You

The ideal candidate for this position should have hands-on experience in conducting complex laboratory experiments including cell culture, and various molecular techniques. They should demonstrate proficiency in a wet-lab environment and have experience with data analysis. Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively are essential. They should be a solution-oriented thinker and have the capacity to learn techniques and troubleshoot errors with some oversight. Effective communication skills are necessary for clear interactions with team members and clear presentation of data. A passion for scientific discovery and a commitment to advancing biotechnology and healthcare align with the job's objectives.

What You’ll Do 

  • Plan, execute, and analyze complex laboratory experiments by performing the ex-vivo molecular analyses on tissues from pre-clinical disease models to understand target engagement and resulting efficacy to support preclinical pharmacology characterization.
  • Execute consistently on protocols for routine molecular techniques to analyze tissues and report data to manager and pharmacology team.
  • Engage with animal scientist colleagues and manager to understand study designs, timelines, and priority.
  • Work flexibly across numerous drug development programs in various therapeutic areas and
  • Work in collaboration with manager to support assay development for PD biomarker detection.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed experimental records, analyze data, and contribute to the preparation of scientific reports and presentations.
  • Independently operate advanced laboratory equipment, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure adherence to safety protocols.

Qualifications 

  • Master degree or a Bachelor's degree in Biology, Pharmacology, Bioengineering, or a related field, with a proven track record of executing laboratory experiments and assays and a minimum of 2 years of related experience.
  • Significant hands-on experience in conducting complex laboratory experiments, cell culture, and assay development is preferred.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software commonly utilized in preclinical pharmacology research.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
  • Effective communication skills, facilitating clear interactions with team members, stakeholders, and presenting scientific findings.
  • Passion for scientific discovery and a commitment to advancing biotechnology and healthcare.

The expected salary range for this role is $77,000 to $89,000, depending on skills, competency, and the market demand for your expertise.
