Express Employment Professionals are currently seeking Warehouse Associates for a local distribution company in Tonawanda, NY. This is an excellent temp to hire opportunity!

Hours: Monday-Friday; Training will be held on 1st shift (7:00am-3:30pm) for the first few weeks, then you will be placed on 2nd shift (2:30pm-11:00pm).

Starting Pay: $18.00 per hour

Job Overview: Works to assure safe and accurate warehouse operations in shipping, receiving, inventory counting and material handling.

Responsibilities

• Receive shipments, and verify correct quantities to shipping documents
• Accurately record shipment information in the company system
• Report shipment discrepancies and issues to the Customer Service Manager
• Accurately fill orders using shelf inventory and safely package materials for shipping
• Utilize third-party logistics software to generate shipments
• Safely operate a forklift, pallet jack, and hand carts to move materials
• Appropriately store materials in the correct warehouse locations
• Perform inventory counts, identify, and record discrepancies
• Work with internal departments to investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies
• Comply with all safety guidelines to ensure a safe work environment, including always wearing the proper PPE, safely handling materials, tools, and chemicals, and reporting unsafe work conditions or equipment immediately

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• 1-3 years of experience in warehousing, shipping, or receiving
• Understanding inventory management is desirable
• Valid driver’s license
• Able to work with little to no supervision to complete assigned tasks
• Good written and oral communication skills and excellent organizational skills
• Experience using Microsoft Excel and Word
• Able to stand, walk and move for extended periods
• Successfully pass the required pre-employment background check and drug screen
